I have been involved with art for as long as I can remember. As an art major in high school and college I enjoyed drawing, photography, painting and pottery. My passion for unique and beautiful things included jewelry and therefore I accrumulated quite a collection. After my graduation I realized I still felt a strong desire to have a creative outlet. One day it hit me that I should combine my creative talent with my love of jewelry. I bought a few basic tools and supplies and got busy crafting my own designs. Before long my friends and family began placing custom orders. Things took off from there and I created Makana Jewelry Designs in order to offer my jewelry to the public. I am so thrilled to have this gratifying creative outlet for myself that in turn gives lasting pleasure to other people.
